What is the recommended PH level for a 'Fura tank?

So far, I have heard recommendatons ranging from a PH of 6 to 8.6. However, no-one has yet told me why they prefer one PH over another. As the Arafura ranges from entirely fresh water to entirely salt water, with all the different combinations inbetween, surely the PH shouldn't be that important?

Look at it this way, from a fast running stream to a decaying leaf and driftwood littered billabong, the PH levels vary, greatly.

So why does the majority tell me I should keep my 'Fura at a PH of 7.0? Can anyone give me a definative answer here?

Should my 'Fura be kept in fresh, brackish or salt water?

Given the same reasoning used above, why is the recommended water type for the 'Fura, fresh?

A fellow 'Fura keeper recently contacted me to tell me he kept his in brackish water and had done so ever since suffering a white spot/fungus infection. Since changing to brackish water the infection cleared up and has never plagued one of his snakes since.

So, why is brackish water not the recommended norm?

What tank size is suitable for one, or more 'Fura's?

What sort of night lighting should I, or could I use?

Do Arafura's benefit from UV?

How much should a juvenile or an adult, be eating and at what regularity?

Is there a preferred feeder fish?

I started out feeding Comets to my Arafura. Pretty soon, a friend who is extremely knowledgeable in the care and husbandry of fish, recommended I not feed Comets. He pointed out that in fish keeping, Comets were considered poor feeders, due to a high fat content (?) and a thick slime coat. He recommended I use a variety of other fish instead.

So what are other keepers successfully feeding their Arafura's on and could this diet be improved with the addition of other fish types?
